Representatives from the Mayor's Office, County Public Works, State Highways, and community representatives will be there to provide updates, answer questions, and hear directly from the community.
Yes, Haliimaile, Olinda Rd, Pukalani, Kula will be addressed on Aug 26 because they were also part of the contract and it seems this noncompliant issue is unfortunately island wide. The state DOT has also inspected and accepted non-conforming speed tables that do not meet the engineering guidelines. We also hope to have first responders there so they can testify to how much time it really takes them to get to an emergency situation. We are taking measurements on Olinda Road because the maximum guidelines for speed tables is 8% grade and some of them may be exceeding those limits and placed on turns with no site distance visibility. Any other information can be sent to me for the August 26 meeting at the Haiku Community Center. We are going to hold the people responsible for putting defective obstacles all over our roadways island-wide. Mahalo, Gregg Blue
